And an annual April settlement means the cash arrives once a year rather than appearing monthly on your bill.

All of this is currently theoretical for new applicants, because intakes are paused. But it is the framework a Whitehorse project will re-enter when they reopen, and it argues for sizing to your own consumption — particularly winter consumption, which is when a subarctic household draws most and a solar array delivers least.
